MASON HARRINGTON

ARTIST BIO:

I am a singer/songwriter from Woolwich, Maine. Some of my biggest influences include Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Alice In Chains, The Police, Frank Zappa, Jack White, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Megadeth, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, and Blues Traveller. I'm competing in MAMM slam as a solo performer, and I hope to win in order to, like, pursue musical endeavors and stuff like that. There are probably people way more talented than me in this competition, and if I don't end up winning, at least it was fun!

Junior, Morse High School, Guitar, vocals

DEMO SONG #1: Gold is Stone

Written By: Will Herman, Mason Harrington

Come along, grab hold
There’s acres more to go
Hundreds we’ve been told
So we’re following the flow

A continuance of space and time
That never seems to end
We’re stuck in it, or so they say
Our lives we’re left to spend

A heart of gold, or a heart of stone?
And to celebrate, or weep and moan?
Don’t make me laugh, a heart full grown?
We don’t know how
To explore the complexity of life

Yet we keep moving, an endless road
The same way we have and will
There appears no cure for our heavy load
But learning our job, perfecting our skill

When we can’t understand
And the rhythm’s not right
We’ll walk hand in hand
Won’t let go through the night

A heart of gold, or a heart of stone?
And to celebrate, or weep and moan?
Don’t make me laugh, a heart full grown?
We don’t know how
To explore the complexity of life

An endless stream of life and death
Mixed with pain and sex and meth
It hurts the most of every and all
Banging our heads against the wall
But we can’t, we won’t give in

A heart of gold, or a heart of stone?
And to celebrate, or weep and moan?
Don’t make me laugh, a heart full grown?
We don’t know how
To explore the complexity of life

DEMO SONG #2: She is Winter (To Me)

Written By: Mason Harrington

It is kind of difficult
To let her know how I feel
‘Cause I’m not sure I feel anything at all
But if I were more than this
I know I wouldn’t have to look back
What if I am just a man who’ll never know

Who do you think I am,
Do you even give a damn
About me, and my life, oh can you help me?
I am yours, but she is mine
And I’ve learned to hate and love you
But there are times, when my perception slips away

Is this where I’m supposed to be?
This ain’t where I fell asleep
She was there, now I’m not, and I feel sober
If this is right, let me me know
I might even try to love you
Even more than you said you loved me

She’ll be gone with the wind
And I won’t remember her face
And for that, oh I know I’ll always hate you
I should hate myself
But I am weak so I blame you
Summer’s here, and she is winter to me
Summer’s here, and she is winter to me

Take your time, fall in love
Take anyone you want
Either way, you’ll still haunt me forever
I love you, I lost her, now I have no one at all
I was wrong, you were right, please spare my pain

Cut me loose from this rope,
That you so easily tie me up in
Let me go, you don’t know, anything
Summer’s here, and she is winter to me
Summer’s here, and she is winter to me
