MAine Music Educator Award
In November, MAMM will present the 5th annual "Rock Stars In Our Communities" Awards at the CHORDS FOR KIDS Scholarship Gala in downtown Portland.
We are currently accepting nominations for the 2021 Maine Music Educator Award. Based on these applications, we will select a Maine music educator who exemplifies MAMM’s mission and values by providing Maine youth with the discipline, freedom, and guidance to appreciate the thrill of making contemporary music and instilling in them the power of self-expression. The awardee will also demonstrate a commitment to going above and beyond to create opportunities for Maine youth to develop their creative expression while building important life skills.
Nominate your music teacher today by filling out and submitting the form below by September 30th, 2021. We will be selecting awardees in October. Nominees will be notified after we have made our decision.

2020 Award Winner - Patia Maule
Like the rest of the education world, MAMM pivoted online in 2020 to adapt to the various challenges that COVID-19 presented. During this crisis, our faculty member and registrar Patia Maule emerged as a leader and helped MAMM to successfully navigate through a transition that nobody saw coming.
"First and foremost, Patia is a tremendous teacher and her students absolutely adore her" says MAMM executive director Jeff Shaw. "That said, her guidance, ingenuity, and determination to develop, implement, and train our staff on a brand new remote learning platform that she helped to build in real time allowed the MAMM community to stay connected through music when it was needed most. Our business simply would not have survived this pandemic without her, and for this reason the MAMM Board of Directors and I are thrilled to name her as our 2020 Maine Music Educator."
