ABOUT GIRLS ROCK:

Each March, as part of Women's History Month, the Maine Academy of Modern Music (MAMM) hosts its annual Girls Rock events. A celebration of women and girls in music, Girls Rock features performances by MAMM’s student bands and soloists playing music written by femme artists of any genre.

In 2026 we are hosting two events: Girls Rock (Downeast) on March 20 & Girls Rock (Portland) on March 29.

In addition to the concerts, MAMM also hosts Girls Rock! camps each summer. Young female rockers get to spend two weeks building their skills, networking with other like-minded girls, and learning tricks of the trade from various women in Maine's thriving local music scene. More details here!
