Coolest Musical Experience: I backpacked across Europe and Northern Africa for six months. I busked (played music on the street) and made musician friends all over the place. My favorite moment was an impromptu jam session with a bunch of guitar-playing strangers on a train in Morocco. The whole train was singing along!

Favorite Artists When I Was 13: Bright Eyes. Still an emo kid at heart!

April writes and produces indie pop music under the name, April Keez. Her original song, "Boston in the Rain" was a finalist in the 2022 Songdoor International Songwriting Contest. A recipient of the Maine Arts Commission's competitive Artist Project Grant, April also writes instructional guides to creating and understanding music. April's authorial debut, From Spark to Song: A Lyric Writing Guide to Ignite Your Creativity is a love letter to the craft of lyric writing. She is currently writing her second book, The Treble Tree: How to Read Music When It Seems Impossible. American Songwriter listed April's Introduction to Songwriting course as one of the 5 Best Online Songwriting Courses of 2024. Her YouTube channel, April Keez, is ranked among Feedspot's list of 25 Songwriting YouTubers You Must Follow in 2026.
